In 2011, League Football Education secured funding via an Association of Learning Providers (ALP) Learning Innovation Grant to provide Football League clubs with a performance analysis package consisting of a MAC Book loaded with GameBreaker+ software.
Navitas Sports project managed delivery of the package to 69 football clubs, plus three professional basketball teams and England Netball. This was done via four regional delivery days incorporating a training session for the staff responsible for using the software.
A second element of the project was the delivery of a university accredited Performance Analysis qualification providing AASE learners with 20 UCAS points and enabling wider recognition of the AASE qualification across the HE sector.
This innovative project enabled LFE to:
- Engage and excite learners to enhance both retention and achievement
- Enhance the support around individual learner needs by producing learner specific video content
- Increase the range and content of learning by extending learning beyond the classroom and training pitch
- Encourage learning pathways (including HE) by making available additional qualifications
- Open up increased exit and progression pathways within elite sport and sporting scholarships.
